But with companies still reluctant to hire, the nation's jobless rate rose to a quarter-century high of 9.4 percent, and it likely will keep rising into 2010, possibly within striking distance of its post-World War II peak of 10.8 percent.<

We are disappointed at the release of Hafeez Sayeed. He is the head of the Jamat-ud-Dawa and the Lashkar-e-Taiba, organizations listed by the United Nations under UNSC Resolution 1267, as being affiliates of the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Hafeez Sayeed is specifically listed as linked to these terrorist groups. It is regrettable that notwithstanding this background and the international obligations it entails on Pakistan, he has been released.
